Answer:
The main function of the ESS Power Case is to connect and integrate the battery with Ferroamp's DC grid through the ESO(s) mounted in designated locations within the ESS Power Case. You can read more about the function of the ESO here. The ESS Power Case also contains a smaller DC distribution with space for connection of up to three SSOs. Therefore, the ESS Power Case can replace the smaller DC distribution, DC Distribution 5, in properties where an ESS battery is to be installed simultaneously with the facility containing 3 or fewer SSOs.
Depending on the number of SSOs, the need for a standard DC distribution varies, and they complement each other in different use cases. A general recommendation to facilitate installation is that if the facility contains multiple ESS systems and/or more than 3 SSOs, only use the ESS Power Case to house the ESOs and connect the battery to the DC grid. The ESS Power Case is then connected to the regular DC distribution. In this case, the inputs for SSOs in the ESS Power Case are not used.
Below are two examples of how the ESS Power Case can be utilized in a system. One in a facility with 3 SSOs and the other in a facility with 4 or more SSOs.
Example:
System with a maximum of 3 SSOs and 1 ESS battery:
System with more than 3 SSOs and 1 ESS battery:
