What is Limit Export and how can I use export limitation?

Answer:

Limit export is exactly as it sounds—a feature that enables limitation of a property's export of electricity to the grid. It can, for example, be used to ensure that we do not export more electricity to the grid than what the main fuse can handle, and can also be used in PowerShare installations, for instance, to stop almost all export across one or more grid connections and instead focus the export on other grid connections.

Example:

  • The button for Limit Export is used to restrict the export of self-produced electricity to the grid. The system will then limit production to avoid exporting electricity when the power consumed from the grid is below the Export threshold value. Below, you can see how the system behaves at different Export threshold values:

  • Export threshold value = 0 W: The EnergyHub will strive to not produce more solar power than what is consumed in the property.
  • Export threshold value = -20000 W: The EnergyHub will strive to not export more than 20 kW to the grid.
  • Export threshold value = 20000 W: The EnergyHub will only produce solar power when the power draw from the grid is over 20 kW.

  • To activate import or export limitation, press the button to the left of the text so that the symbol turns green. (Green = On, Gray = Off). Then press Update.
