What is Limit import and how can I use import limiting?

Limiting import is exactly as it sounds—a feature to, as far as possible, restrict the import from the grid. Limit Import is currently only used in conjunction with load management control of EV charging and in energy sharing in PowerShare to limit imported power to the property as much as possible.

Since the EnergyHub does not control the majority of loads in your property, we cannot directly control the consumption from these loads. However, if we control your charging station, for example, we can dynamically adjust the charging power up and down to counteract other consumption in the property.

If the EnergyHub is part of a PowerShare, we can use Limit Import to possibly draw more power from the DC network to cover the consumption in the property.

Read more about how to use Limit Import for load management control of your charging station here.

NOTE! The configuration of PowerShare is still in the beta stage and requires an understanding of how the different droop curves generated by the operating settings of the EnergyHub in each property in the PowerShare system interact. Therefore, we recommend that you contact us for assistance with this so that we can configure your PowerShare according to your preferences.
