Answer:
The DC distribution from Ferroamp is IP65-rated and can therefore be placed both indoors and outdoors.
Ferroamp generally recommends placing the DC distribution in close proximity to the components (Solar String Optimizers and batteries) that need to be connected to reduce cable routing.
For example, if only Solar String Optimizers are to be connected to the DC distribution, we recommend placing the DC distribution near the Solar String Optimizers, which are typically located as close to the solar panels as possible. This way, we only need to run one cable from the Solar String Optimizers and DC distribution into the property to the EnergyHub.
If a battery is also to be connected to the DC distribution, we recommend placing the DC distribution where it is most convenient for installation, which could be near the EnergyHub, for instance.
In larger installations consisting of multiple DC distributions or larger batteries that require an additional DC distribution cabinet to ultimately have only one DC cable to run to the EnergyHub, Ferroamp recommends placing the DC distribution cabinet near the EnergyHub and battery to facilitate installation. The DC distributions, in turn, are preferably placed near the SSO:s to facilitate cable routing.
