Answer:
A firefighter switch enables the disconnection of the wiring between solar panels and inverters. This allows firefighters to work without the risk of injury from live conductors.
A manual switch/emergency shutdown should be clearly marked and located inside the door to the exterior/access path.
In the Ferroamp system, firefighter switches can be placed on both the AC and DC sides, and datasheets and manuals for the developed product (DC switch) are available for download here.
