Why does the AC cable to the EnergyHub need to be sized for 1.7 times the phase balancing current?

Answer:


Each EnergyHub has the ability to perform phase balancing to even out imbalances in the power grid. The phase balancing capacity indicates how much current can be transferred between phases.

Because current is transferred between phases in the property's three-phase system to balance out imbalances, it also means that different amounts of current will flow in the neutral conductor of the three-phase system, depending on how much we consume and balance.

At most, there can be 1.7 times as much current in the neutral conductor between the EnergyHub and the property's main electrical panel.
