How much solar power can I connect to an EnergyHub?

Answer:

1) Our general recommendation is that the peak power produced by the solar panels should not exceed the size of the EnergyHub if one wants to avoid clipping and be able to limit the power. For example, a straight south-facing roof with 16.8 kW of solar panels and a 14 kW EnergyHub is theoretically not optimal because 2.8 kW will never be produced or able to be inverted. However, in such cases, we usually say that it's okay, so a maximum of 120% for everything to work as intended, because there are certain losses in cabling and installed power is never equal to peak power. Simply put, we never reach the installed power in Sweden.


If you have an east/west/south roof orientation, you can oversize more. In that case, the solar strings in different roof directions will produce at different times. Then you can oversize the installed power more than 120%, in some cases up to 170% compared to the EnergyHub size, for example, if half is on the east side and half on the west side.
