Can I install a battery while the Energyhub is operational?

*NOTE: The information below is directed towards installers. Only trained electricians are allowed to install Ferroamp’s products.

Answer:

No, we always recommend shutting down the EnergyHub system during the installation of new hardware such as batteries or additional solar strings. There are exceptions when it's okay if you can guarantee that the part you're working on is completely voltage-free and doesn't pose any risks.

However, the EnergyHub system still needs to be restarted once the battery is installed. This is because the EnergyHub inverter itself needs to search for the battery in the DC network and establish communication for power transmission and control to work.
