How do I connect my EnergyHub to the internet?

*NOTE: The information below is directed towards installers. Only trained electricians are allowed to install Ferroamp’s products.

Answer:

All EnergyHubs can be connected to the internet to display data in Ferroamp's EnergyCloud portal. By default, all units have an Ethernet port, so a wired Ethernet connection with an RJ45 cable between the building's router and the EnergyHub should be used. Alternatively, depending on where your EnergyHub is installed, you can also use:

  • A WiFi extender if WiFi is available.
  • An external mobile broadband router.

In all options, an Ethernet cable is connected between the extender/modem/router and the EnergyHub to connect it to the internet.

With a mobile broadband router, it's recommended to have a monthly data allowance of at least 10GB for EnergyHub XL and at least 5GB for EnergyHub Wall.

You can find a network description for the EnergyHub system here.

If you encounter issues with your EnergyHub's internet connection, you can read more here.
